SL has officially launched Journey Planner v2, which will fully replace the two APIs: Route Planner 3.1 and Stop Lookup. Nearby Stops will not have any replacement. The current versions will be shut down on 30 June 2025, and all users must transition to the new API before this date to avoid service interruptions.

This change is part of SL’s ongoing efforts to modernize its route-planning services. It is necessary due to the replacement of the underlying routing engine. Journey Planner v2 is designed to be the last major update after a period of frequent changes.

Compared to earlier versions, Journey Planner v2 offers:
• Greater flexibility through new parameters
• The ability to replicate official SL app results
• Or customize results for specific needs
Another major improvement: No API key is required for this version. You can get started immediately, no registration needed.
